Who we are
theavodalife.com is operated by Avoda Consulting Group ("we", "us"). We are the controller of the personal information described here.
Questions, requests, or complaints: Aaron@avodaholdings.com.
What we collect
We only collect what you give us or what the site needs to work:
- Email address and first name — when you request a free guide, a book chapter, or join the email list.
- Application details— if you apply for a cohort, the name, email, role, and background you choose to type into the form, including any partner contact details you provide. Please only provide someone else's details if they are happy for you to.
- Questions you type into Ask About Avoda— the text of your question. Do not enter sensitive personal information, confidential material, or anyone else's private details into that tool.
- Account information — if you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive your email address and name from them. We never receive your password.
- Payment information — handled by Stripe. We receive confirmation that a payment succeeded and limited billing details. We never see or store full card numbers.
- Technical data — standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested) kept by our host for security and troubleshooting.
The Take It Captive tool runs entirely in your browser. What you write in it is never sent to us or stored on our servers.
Why we use it
- To send you the resource you asked for, and emails you opted into.
- To answer your questions and respond to applications.
- To provide, secure, and improve the site and its tools.
- To take payment and meet our tax and accounting obligations.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising.
Who we share it with
We use the following service providers. Each only receives what it needs to do its job:
- Vercel — Website hosting and server logs
- Kit (ConvertKit) — Email list and sending the free guides
- Resend — Transactional and notification email
- Anthropic — Generating answers in the Ask About Avoda tool
- Stripe — Payment processing (we never see full card details)
- Google / Apple — Optional sign-in, where you choose to use it
- Upstash — Counting tool usage against monthly limits
- Apple Podcasts — The embedded player on the Podcast page
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect our rights and the safety of others.
Cookies
We do not use advertising or analytics trackers. The site sets only what it needs to function:
- Sign-in cookie — keeps you signed in, only if you sign in.
- Usage cookie — counts your questions against the monthly limit on the Ask About Avoda tool.
The Podcast page embeds a player from Apple Podcasts. Apple may set its own cookies when that player loads, under Apple's privacy policy rather than ours. You can avoid it by not visiting that page.
How long we keep it
Email list entries are kept until you unsubscribe. Applications and correspondence are kept while we are in contact and for as long as we need them for our records. Payment and tax records are kept for the period the law requires. Server logs are kept for a short period by our host.
Your choices and rights
You can unsubscribe from any marketing email using the link at the bottom of it. You can ask us to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you, or to stop using it, by emailing Aaron@avodaholdings.com. We will not treat you differently for exercising these rights.
Depending on where you live — for example California, or the UK and EU — you may have additional statutory rights. Ask us and we will honour them.
Children
This site is intended for adults. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has given us information, email us and we will delete it.
Security
We use reputable providers and limit access to personal information. No website can promise perfect security, so please do not send us sensitive information you would not want disclosed.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page. Material changes will be made clear on the site.
